So this last week was a little sad when we found out our priest was transferring to another parish. We love Father and he was excellent with my son when he did his first reconciliation and first communion this year. Still, he requested the move because his parents are getting older and he wanted to be closer to them- can't fault him for that. It does prove rather challenging though since we need him to fill our one of the references we need before he leaves at the end of July. He's got alot on his plate and although I'm sure he'll happily do it, I just want to make sure its done before he goes. Can you say control freak? Yep, I do have that tendency- lol.
On a brighter note, we received our pack from Lina with the reference and medical forms so that is exciting! Since we are both in the medical profession, getting the tests and exams done will be pretty easy and the references are going out to reliable friends. So I'm not worried about that part at all. I actually kinda like this busy work stuff and filling out forms (I know, freak!! lol). Also, our new passports arrived- yay! And holy cow are those things ultra-cool now or what?! The electronic chip thing is pretty awesome and the way they are more counterfeit-proof is funky! Still, a major relief to have them in our possession in such a short time. One step closer, one step closer!
Our pastor is leaving next year and I still just can't get used to it- I always imagined him baptizing our child, but we'll have to see if it all works out. I'm sure he'll get take form filled out for you in time!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on that next step, I too enjoyed having the paperwork, it made me feel like I was really getting something done to move the process along.
I agree with Kara, having something to do (even paperwork) made me feel like I was accomplishing something. Waiting was just painful waiting.
ReplyDeleteI loved doing all of the paperwork also. When I would get it done I would email Lina and ask her what else I could work on! I feels really good to get some things checked of the list. Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions!
ReplyDeleteOh it looks like you fit right in with our little group of control freaks! I hope you handle the time between trips better than Jim and I are.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the paperwork. Having something to do makes the time go quicker. Since May we have just been waiting on others to do their jobs with the homestudy, etc. We have been waiting a couple of weeks just to get the finalized reports from St. Mary's. Not having anything we can do ourselves is really making the time go slowly.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Every little step is one step closer to that child.
